Don't guess - find out how to accurately measure your ring size with this easy step by step instructions:
How do I use String as a Ring Sizer?
1. Take a piece of a non-stretchy string and wrap it around the base of your finger.
2. Wrap it snugly around the base of your finger.
Please remember not to wrap the string too tightly around your finger, or you will have problems with getting the ring over your knuckle.
Keep in mind that your fingers will swell, and you should leave a little room for the ring.
3. Mark the point on it where it completes the circle.
It shouldn't be too tight, nor too loose.
4. Measure the length of the string.
Measure it from the beginning to the mark with a ruler or tape measure. This is the circumference of your finger.
5. Find out your ring size on our conversion chart
Find "Inside circumference" measurement on our conversion chart to find the corresponding ring size.
Before you start with any sort of measurement, one thing to remember is TO AVOID using diameter for your ring size measurement. Instead, always use its inside circumference.
Tips and Tricks
Take your ring size measurement at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest.
If you find that you are in-between sizes, it’s best to choose the larger of the two so that the ring slides comfortably over your knuckles.
When we are warm our fingers swell, and they tend to shrink when we are cold. It’s therefore always best to wait until your body is at room temperature before measuring.
You should also avoid eating salty foods, drinking alcohol, or going to the gym before measuring because these can all make your fingers swell.
